Despite declining to comment on speculation about quartz-component orders from Nokia, the Taiwan-based TXC conceded that it had noticed there is a trend for quartz makers to extend their presence in the handset sector, as leading handset vendors negotiate partnerships with local quartz makers, following the severe shortage reported last year.
