Despite the upcoming labor holiday in China and China-based TV makers starting to increase their shipment volumes, Taiwan-based panel makers said the growth in demand for TV panels during the pre-holiday season was not as strong as in the same period last year since the end market is expecting to see a further price fall, according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times. System makers have delayed their purchase of TV panels and panel demand will not revive until after the second quarter, the paper said.
