Top Tip: Will dual SLI cards give me a 24 pixel pipeline video card?

I want to build an sli system in the future and was wondering if i put two pci-e cards into a system both having 12 pixel pipelines, would this be anywere close to having a single 24 pixel pipeline card? also will it actually be doubling every single thing for the graphics including memory bandwidth, processing power, etc?
