
Oracle certifies use of Red Hat's Global File System

Red Hat's Global File System (GFS) has been certified for use with Oracle’s database products, it has been revealed. The two companies made the announcement at the recent Oracle OpenWorld conference. GFS is a technology that lets as many as 300 servers share the same file system, and can be used in conjunction with Oracle's Real Application Clusters (RAC) technology. However, Oracle has its own open-source competitor to GFS, known as the Oracle Cluster File System.
